“Innovative biomarker-based diagnostics to assess exposure to micro- and nanoplastics and transform it into preventive action.”
PLASTIKIT represents a strategic milestone in the group’s translational trajectory, transforming a key exploitable result from the H2020 PLASTICHEAL european project into a market-ready diagnostic solution, with intellectual property (IPR) managed by UAB.
The concept has been externally validated, recognised by the Horizon Results Booster, and classified as “Market Ready” by the European Innovation Radar, confirming its high potential to address the global need for specific tools to detect exposure to micro- and nanoplastics.
This innovation has driven initiatives such as an AGAUR Llavor proposal, and we are currently working on applying for an EIC Transition project, with the aim of advacing the validation and scaling of the technology towards its market implementation.
Overal, PLASTIKIT positions the group in the fields of translational toxicology and preventive biomonitoring, while also establishing a solid foundation for the develpment of new market-oriented initiatives
