The role of SUMO in protein regulation in plants

Plants dynamically regulate protein activity and composition to adapt to environmental changes and to meet developmental requirements. Among the existing regulatory mechanisms, the study of the regulation of protein function by Small Ubiquitin Modifier (SUMO) conjugation is being used as a basis for developing new biotechnological tools that contribute to sustainable agriculture. Even though SUMO it is present in all eukaryotes, there is a lot that is yet to uncover.

In this talk, it will be discussed the big role of this small protein in the plant resistance to pathogens, protein regulation and function.
