The main conference venue is the Casa de la Convalescència (C/ de St. Antoni Maria Claret, 171, Horta-Guinardó district, 08041 Barcelona), where panels and posters will take place. It is located within the modernist complex of Sant Pau, close to Sagrada Família. The Egyptian Museum of Barcelona will host the welcome reception at the centre of the city (C/ de València, 284, L’Eixample district, 08007 Barcelona).
The Closing Diner will take place at Pomarada Restaurant (Pg. de Gràcia, 78 Principal, Eixample, Barcelona).
The easiest way to arrive to the venue is with the metro. The closest station is Sant Pau-Dos de Maig (Line 5 – Blue), just 10 minutes by walk to Casa de la Convalescència.
HOW TO GET TO BARCELONA
The easiest way to get to Barcelona is by air. Barcelona has a main airport: El Prat – Josep Tarradellas. There are several ways to get from the airport to the centre of the city.
Aerobus
There is a bus shuttle service from both terminals (T1 and T2) to/from the centre of Barcelona leaving every 5 minutes every day, 24 hours per day.
Train
There is a train line connecting the Terminal 2 with the centre of the city. If you arrive at Terminal 1, a bus shuttle takes you freely to the Terminal 2. The train leaves every 30 minutes, but it does not work at night (starting around 5 in the morning until 23 hours).
Metro
In the last years, a metro line (Line 9) also arrives at the airport. However, it does not go directly to the city centre, so we recommend using the train or bus shuttle.
Finally, you can also go by the regular bus lines (Line 46, not working at night) or taxi (outside of the terminals, working 24 hours every day).
ACCOMODATION
The Red Sea Project XI conference will take place from June 5th to June 7th, 2024, in Barcelona, Spain. The venue of the conference will be the “Casa de la Convalescència” (C/ de St. Antoni Maria Claret, 171, Horta-Guinardó district, 08041 Barcelona).
Accommodation in Barcelona is expensive. To help the attendees of the conference, we offer two options of hotels located near the conference venue with special fees.
Hotel Sant Pau
We have blocked 15 rooms in the hotel only for the conference attendees at reduced prices. These rooms will be blocked until one month before the conference. The prices are the following:
Double room for one person: 115€ per night.
Double room for two people: 140€ per night.
Breakfast and taxes included (except for the touristic tax, that must be paid at the hotel).
