The Veterinary Bacteriology and Mycology Service (SVBM) is located in the Veterinary School of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
The SVBM focuses on the study of fungi as causative agents of pathological processes related to infectious diseases and mycotoxicosis that can affect both animals to humans. We have multidisciplinary team to make the diagnosis of fungal disease in various domestic species. Our interest also lies in the importance of detection of mycotoxins and mycotoxin-producing fungi to control the presence of mycotoxins in foods and feeds.
The SVBM offers various services including bacteria and fungi identification, advising on mycological problems. Research projects for third parties can be carried out on a strictly confidential base.
