  • This interactive, enlargeable Map shows the places of production and provenance of the Carolingian and Post-Carolingian manuscripts from ninth- to eleventh-century Catalonia and Septimania we deal with in our Barcelona HERA-Project “From Carolingian Periphery to European Central Region: The Written Genesis of Catalonia” (see also the sections Archives and librariesManuscripts and Publications on this page). The blue stickers show the places of Cathedrals and Canonical communities, the red stickers the places of Benedictine houses, the yellow stickers mark the parish churches. Each sticker is linked to the related Wikipedia article for further information on the history of the individual house. Red stickers also refer to the relevant articles from the Catalan Benedictine monasteries Website.
