The ATLAS Interseccions Crítiques en Educació research group focuses on the analysis of the inequalities and experiences of education subjects (children, young people, families, education professionals…) in their relationships and interdependencies.
We are an interdisciplinary research group (2021 SGR 01014) with different methodological approaches, including ethnography, qualitative, mixed and multimodal methods and educational research based on arts and design. We generate knowledge from a perspective feminist, not adult-centric and collaborative.
From a critical perspective, we propose an educational transformation, based on equity and agency, to resist and contest the multiple forms of discrimination and exclusion collectively.
Research strands
- Injustices in education: racial/ethnic, social class, age, gender, sexuality and religion-related injustices.
- The subjects’ agency: life experiences, identities, strategies of resistance and forms of collective organization.
- Vulnerabilities, precariousness and violences-exclusions which affect migrant and minority groups due to social class, race/ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality and religion.
- Feminist, decolonial and non-adultcentric discourses, modes of knowledge production and research methods.
- The concepts, policies and practices of critical, feminist, popular, corporal, artistic and visual culture pedagogies.
