Eugeni Vidal Tortosa represented the ATRAPA project at the 6th World Symposium on Transport and Land Use Research (WSTLUR 2026), held in Beijing, China, from 7-11 June 2026.
As part of the Active Travel and Micromobility track, Eugeni presented the work Can We Trust OpenStreetMap to Measure Cycling Infrastructure Change? A Reproducible Validation Framework Using Google Street View on 8 June 2026.
The study, co-authored with Oriol Marquet and Victor Gonzalez Parra at GEMOTT research group, examines the reliability of OpenStreetMap for detecting changes in cycling infrastructure over time. Using Barcelona as a case study, the research combines historical OpenStreetMap data with Google Street View imagery to develop a reproducible framework for validating infrastructure additions and removals.

Overall, participation in WSTLUR 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate ATRAPA’s research findings, engage with leading researchers in transport and land-use studies, and gain new perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of sustainable urban mobility.
