Carlos Delclós is a Serra Hunter Lecturer in Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He obtained his PhD in Political and Social Sciences at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in 2014, where he specialized in sociodemography and received a cum laude distinction for his doctoral thesis, Cultural and Structural Explanations of Fertility: The Spanish Case at the Beginning of the 21st Century. As a researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP-UAB), Dr. Delclós led a work package in the European Research Council project Property and Democratic Citizenship since 2019. He is also an associate researcher at the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB) and participates in numerous international research projects and networks. Drawing on a robust mixed-methods skillset, his research areas include social stratification, urban sociology, political sociology and social policy. His interdisciplinary contributions span urban studies, housing studies, citizenship studies, migration studies and social determinants of health. His work has been published in top-ranking scientific journals including European Urban and Regional Studies, Housing Studies, European Population Research, PLoS Medicine, International Journal of Epidemiology and International Journal of Public Health.


