Josep Llurba (Short Bio)
Josep Llurba, BA in Translation and Interpreting (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), has been working as a freelance audiovisual translator since 1991. He translates and adapts for dubbing purposes feature films and TV series from English into Spanish and Catalan. He also translates and adapts subtitles for several film companies and festivals.
He presently combines this job with teaching dubbing at the Official Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain.
He is a founder member of CITA, the International Conference on Audiovisual Translation. He is currently President of ATRAE, Asociación de Traducción y Adaptación Audiovisual de España, and member of the management board of DAMA, a society for audiovisual royalties management.
