Dr Emilee Sarah Moore, Co-investigator, University of Leeds (UK)

My work is framed within the study of linguistic practices in multilingual educational contexts from a perspective that integrates interactional sociolinguistics and sociocultural learning theories. My published research has investigated plurilingual uses emerging in multilingual learning environments and have sought to relate them to both the sociolinguistic context and to local interactional projects. In this regard, I am particularly interested in the relationship between plurilingual practices, language policies and processes of learning language and other curricular contents. More recently I have become interested in pluriliteracy practices in which young people participate out of school and their relationship with formal learning.

Having completed BA and MA studies in Australia, since 2009 I have been a member of the GREIP research group at the UAB, where I completed my PhD. I have participated in several Spanish and European R+D+i projects and I have been a lecturer in the Department of Language, Literature and Social Science Education at UAB (2010 – 2015) and in the Languages Department the UIC (2010-2015). At both universities I have participated in the development of teachers for preschool, primary, secondary and tertiary education, thereby allowing the transfer of my research results for the improvement of teaching practices. Since autumn 2015, I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Leeds (UK) as part of the Beatriu de Pinós program (Generalitat de Catalunya). I have also been visiting scholar (3 months) at the CUNY Graduate Centre in New York (USA) and completed short stays at Roskilde Universitet (Denmark) and the University of South Australia (Australia).
