Over the past weeks, Vanessa Monteiro, a postdoctoral researcher at ICTA, participated in the IG3IS Stakeholder Consultations and User Summit 2026 at the World Meteorological Organization in Geneva (20–22 April 2026). Together with Paula Castesana (Barcelona Supercomputing Center on the RESPIRE project), she contributed to the “Marketplace of Ideas,” presenting work in Spain aimed at making atmospheric observations and modelling more accessible for stakeholders. Vanessa highlighted the unique challenges of Barcelona, where complex emissions, land cover, and topography complicate data interpretation. To address this, she has been developing tools at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, including an interactive dashboard to explore spatial variability in CO₂ and CH₄ across the city.
