Department & University: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona
Brief summary of research interests: The main research areas I have worked on since the 1990s are Gender Studies (in particular Masculinities Studies but also Women’s Studies), Cultural Studies and Popular Narratives (including Gothic and, mainly, science fiction). I have worked in Literary Studies (mostly contemporary), and Films Studies (fiction films, documentaries, series). My interests are quiet eclectic and have briefly included other areas such as Scottish Literature and Popular Music. At this point, I am planning to apply my energies to researching in more depth secondary characters and non-fiction (both print and audiovisual).
