Maria Rosa Garrido Sardà, (mariarosa.garridosarda@unifr.ch), is a member of the CIEN research group in the Department de Filologia Anglesa i de Germanística at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She is currently  a post-doc researcher at the Institute of Multilingualism, University of Fribourg. Her on-going project “Humanitarians on the move” (2015-16), directed by Prof. Dr. Alexandre Duchêne, explores language, mobility and identity in the trajectories of skilled workers who cross linguistic and national borders for humanitarian work. Her main research interests include language, mobilities and social exclusion; the sociolinguistic construction of transnational identities in international NGOs and social movements; multilingualism in globalised workplaces and plurilingual approaches & multilingualism in non-formal and voluntary language education. Her recent PhD dissertation (UAB, 2014), supervised by Dr. Eva Codó, is a multi-sited, critical sociolinguistic ethnography of a transnational social movement called Emmaus.  Personal page on Academia.edu
