The general objectives will materialize in the following specific outputs:
- A research report on the current situation of mediated intercultural communication in the healthcare field in Catalonia will be elaborated and disseminated among several key actors. The aim of this report could be twofold. On the one hand, to make available to users an information tool on healthcare centres that have solutions to language barriers. On the other hand, to strengthen the creation of support and collaboration networks between health centres in relation to mediated communication. This report will be published on the UAB repository and the project’s website and disseminated through social media
- An infographic that will include recommendations for politicians, managers, and public policy technicians in the field of mediated intercultural communication in the health sector will be designed.
- A workshop -to which representatives of the different direct and indirect actors involved in mediated intercultural communication in the healthcare field will be invited- will be organized. The main findings of the research will be presented at this workshop, that will act as a “think tank” on mediated intercultural communication and related areas.
- A corpus of anonymised interaction, focus groups and interview transcripts will be created. This corpus will be made available in open access to facilitate the re-use of the data.
- 4-6 podcasts addressed to the general public will be recorded. These podcasts will address the main results of the research. In particular, they will gather the testimonies of the main actors involved in mediated intercultural communication in the healthcare sector (public policy managers, healthcare staff and healthcare managers, paid and unpaid interpreters and intercultural mediators, and users). They will be available on the project’s website and disseminated through social media.
