Professor of Journalism and Professor Emerita since September 2019. She is affiliated with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) as an honorary professor. She is the Honorary Director of LAPREC and President of the Mediterranean Observatory of Communication (OMC-UAB). She is the Deputy Director of the Latin American journal deSignis. She has been the principal investigator on several R&D projects. She reviews scientific articles, books, and book chapters for various international journals and publishers in her field of study. She is a member of several international associations in her area of expertise. She has been a visiting researcher or professor at universities and research centers in Europe, Latin America, and Spain. She was the academic coordinator at the UAB for the Erasmus Mundus Master’s program in Crossing the Mediterranean: Towards Investment and Integration (MIM) (2015-2019). She is the author of numerous publications in her field.
