Dr. Jordi Mompart received his PhD in Physics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 1999 with the Thesis entitled “Lasing without inversion” and under the supervision of Prof. Ramón Corbalán.
Dr. Jordi Mompart has been a visiting researcher at several universities and research institutes worldwide: Universität Münster, Università degli Studi Milano, Texas A&M University, Leibnitz Universität Hannover, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology. After a postdoctoral stay at the Leibniz Universität Hannover, where he worked on the use of cold atoms for quantum information purposes, he became associate professor at the UAB. His research interests range from laser physics and quantum optics to quantum information and artificial intelligence.
He is author of more than 100 articles, co-editor of the book “Applied Bohmian mechanics: from nanoscale systems to cosmology”, Pan Stanford Publishing 2012 and 2019, and holds three patents. He has supervised 8 PhD thesis. Presently, he is the coordinator of the Physics Doctorate program at the UAB.
