Dr. Irene Estévez obtained her PhD degree in Physics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) in December 2018. Her PhD thesis was awarded with the PhD Extraordinary Award. She has been a visiting research scholar at the École Polytechnique (France) for four months in 2016. From 2019 to 2022, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics Center of Minho and Porto Universities (CFUMP) (Portugal). Her postdoctoral research was marked within a collaboration between the CFUMP and the international company BOSCH in the framework of a European project. In 2023, Dr. Estévez was a Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral fellow at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.  

Irene Estévez’s research interests include polarimetry (measurement and interpretation of polarized light), optical design and polarized light applications. 

She has published fifteen peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals in the field of optics and multidisciplinary sciences. In addition, she has three patents, two of them transferred to BOSCH. Dr. Irene Estévez has also presented some of her research at the most prestigious national and international conferences in the field. She is co-supervisor of 3 Ph.D. Thesis.  

Dr. Irene Estévez is member of the SPIE, Optica (formerly OSA) and Sociedad Española de Óptica (SEDOPTICA).
