The paper “Algorithmic Literacy: Navigating TikTok Creators’ Algorithmic Strategies”, presented by Dr. Gemma Gómez Bernal in collaboration with Drs. Fernanda Pires, Celina Navarro, and Gemma San Cornelio, within the framework of the ECREA Audience and Reception Studies Conference 2025, “Navigating Algorithmic Society: Audiences’ tactics to understanding the world”, held on October 30–31, 2025, at Södertörn University (Stockholm, Sweden), focused on how TikTok creators develop strategies to understand and negotiate with the platform’s algorithmic systems. The paper addressed algorithmic literacy as a key competence for understanding how algorithms influence creators’ visibility, reach, and opportunities in an increasingly datafied media environment.
