Abstract:
Two losing games when combined can give rise to a wining game.
This striking behaviour is known as “Parrondo’s paradox”. This paradox
has been studied in many fields ranging from medicine to economics. Its origin
was inspired by the analysis of work extraction from flashing ratchets. Some quantum
versions of it have also been proposed.
