It is known that each CPTP map can be decomposed into a unitary interaction with a suitable environment system and discarding of that environment. The noise of the channel can be entirely attributed to losing information into the environment, which raises the question how much better one could communicate over the channel if one had access to environment.
I will review the capacities of the model where a benevolent helper can assist the sender and receiver by exploiting information from the environment state after the unitary interaction.
I will then introduce a model where the environment (before the unitary interaction) is controlled by helper, who can set the initial state to assist the sender and receiver. The focus will be on the the problem of quantum communication. I will also discuss some preliminary results on classical communication with the above model.
