Quantum Contextuality: A Historical Perspective

I will summarize the history of quantum contextuality starting with the discussion, in the late 1920’s, of whether quantum mechanics can be complemented by “hidden variables”, which eventually led to Bell’s and Kochen-Specker’s theorems, and ending with some recent developments such as the discovery that quantum theory is the most contextual theory for ideal measurements.
