Tensor networks are on the frontline of classical simulation of quantum many body systems. Nevertheless, their efficiency is limited to states with bipartite entanglement growing only as the extension of the boundary between subsystems. Unitary evolution is one of the scenarios that generally saturates the Ansatz for arbitrary states, such that long time regimes can not be accessed. In this work, we propose a decoherence scheme which targets unnecessary coherences in the evolved state, constraining the operator entanglement growth and still respecting the values of local observables in the limit of zero decoherence.
