On December 11, Joan Ploettner, GREIP PhD candidate, presented data from her doctoral research. The Data Session, with the title

“The interactional accomplishment of expertise for English Medium Instruction”

, included excerpts of interaction between one content specialist and one English language teaching specialist in a teacher development process for English Medium Instruction (EMITD). The analysis then focused on interactional sequences which make visible claims to and attribution of epistemic access, entitlement and responsibility during lesson planning in the teacher development process, as well as in the participation of artifacts in the interaction. The data gave place to some very interesting discussion and reflection on the role of EMI instruction and the interactional accomplishment of expertise.
