Our team members Júlia Llompart, Dolors Masats, Emilee Moore and Claudia Vallejo will be presenting the workshop “Let’s be linguistically and culturally sensitive teachers!” at the annual APAC Convention that will be held from the 1st until the 3rd of February in Barcelona. This hybrid event combines online live and recorded sessions, as well as face-to-face sessions.
APAC is a non-profit association that supports English teachers working in Catalonia and was founded in 1986. The association welcomes primary and secondary school teachers, teachers in language academies, freelance teachers, material developers, or whatever is the expertise in the field of English as a foreign language.
Over the past two decades, the linguistic dynamics of schools in Catalonia have been transformed, and now more than ever, our classrooms are buzzing with different languages and dynamics, both on the students’ and on the teachers’ part. Our team members’ presentation focuses on the process of learning and recognizing the linguistic diversity living in ourselves and our classrooms, and the reflection upon how teachers can plan their lessons to contribute to linguistically and culturally sensitive teaching. We warmly invite anyone interested in the topic to join our team on February 3rd, from 11:20 to 12:20, by registering in the following link https://shorturl.at/uFV17
