During the week of June 16th, our colleague and GREIP member Maria Mont presented a project about raising awareness of issues surrounding water resources at Escola Sant Jordi in Mollet del Vallés, in which she is working with Ese Emmanuel Uwosomah, another PhD student supervised by Dr. Melinda Dooly. The project connected with students from a school in Nigeria and aimed to create shared values on how water should be used and managed. This three-month project has also helped students practice and improve their English skills and gain digital skills. Throughout the project, students use a special child-friendly AI platform created by Uwosomah, (subplatform in ChatGPT), to guide them on becoming more aware of water resources and ways to save water. According to the fourth-grade students, the project was a fun and engaging experience. The project planning and implementation was a collaborative effort between Maria, Ese, Melinda and Angela Onyemowo at Oakbridge Foundation School in Nigeria.
At the project’s closure on June 20th, students, families, and project members, including Dr. Melinda Dooly, connected with the school in Nigeria, and both parties participated in the final presentation.

GREIP’s insight
Estem molt orgullosos de la María Mont i l’Ese Emmanuel Uwosomah, ja que sempre han treballat molt perquè els seus alumnes sàpiguen que aprendre va més enllà de l’aula.
