On September 8th, 2025, in conjunction with the doctoral defense of Klaudia Kruszyńska, an international seminar on Linguistic Landscapes in Education was held at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Taking advantage of the presence of distinguished scholars Dr. Osman Solmaz (Dicle University, Turkey) and Dr. David Malinowski (San José State University, USA), the event showcased cutting-edge perspectives on how linguistic landscapes can enrich teaching and learning in diverse contexts. Sponsored by the Horizon Europe project ALPHABETICA (CL2-2024-Transformations-01-08), led by Dr. Claudia Vallejo Rubinstein (UAB), the seminar featured two thought-provoking talks: Skinscapes and Fan Artworks as Multimodal Meaning-Making Literacy Practice in Language Classrooms (Dr. Osman Solmaz) and Linguistic Landscape and Teacher Education: Forming the Transcultural Subject (Dr. David Malinowski). Both presentations sparked lively discussion among participants, reinforcing the relevance of linguistic landscape studies in advancing plurilingual and transcultural approaches to education.
