An academic event focused on promoting multilingual education was held in Ceuta, bringing together specialists and institutional representatives from various countries. The day began with an official opening, followed by a presentation by Dr. Ofelia García, whose content sparked considerable interest among the attendees.

Next, the LEyLA Framework, a key proposal for developing inclusive and multilingual educational approaches in early childhood education, was presented by Dr. Fernando Trujillo Sáez and Dr. Beatriz Cortina Pérez, both from the University of Granada. The core of the meeting was a round table discussion entitled “Rethinking Multilingual Education,” organized in a colloquium format to foster dialogue. The colloquium participants were Dr. Ricardo Otheguy, Dr. Francisco Lorenzo, Dr. Melinda Dooly, and Dr. Ofelia García. In it, the participants discussed the conceptual, pedagogical and institutional challenges facing multilingual education, as well as the necessary changes in teacher training and school practice to respond to these challenges.
