In a recent presentation, Leonardo Parisi, a doctoral student of our group under the guidance of Dr. Emilee Moore, discussed an article he published in 2023. The article aimed to provide an overview of the themes related to bilingual education present in articles, dissertations, and theses published in the last eleven years in Brazil.

Using a qualitative-interpretative paradigm, he conducted a thematic analysis as the main research method and the main themes were identified from the abstracts and divided into six categories. In addition to the discussion of this article, he presented the aims of his PhD research, which combines bilingual education and language policy. This introduction of language policy into his research becomes even more relevant after the recent approval of a national policy specifically designed for bilingual schools. To sum up, this presentation has helped us understand the evolving landscape of bilingual education in Brazil.
