Melinda Dooly was invited to give the closing plenary at a recent international conference in Prague. Focusing on the stated needs for global citizens and the competences teachers are expected to instil in their students, Dooly raised the issue of applying critical interrogation as regards the focus on ’employability’ without the complementary factor of ‘responsibility’ when considering the future global citizen. Frequent collaborator and associate GREIP member, Dr. Robert O’Dowd was also a keynote at the conference, kicking it off with the inaugural plenary.
