The ENACT project (CommunitiEs, LaNguages, and ACTivities App) has officially been launched this past week. The kick-off meeting, hosted at Newcastle University’s
iLab: Learn
was an intensive 2 day work session. The ENACT project aims to bring culture to life by developing a responsive web app that uses an innovative task-based digital learning pedagogy and offers a real-world, immersive learning experience. Using the web app, immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, members of the home cultures, and HE students will co-create interactive Open Educational Resources, such as interactive videos and virtual 360 tours for cultural activities, engage with the digital artefacts created by others, participate in an online intercultural community, and carry out activities of other cultures.
ENACT is led by Müge Satar (PI in ECLS), Paul Seedhouse (Co-I in ECLS), and Ahmed Kharrufa (Co-I in Computing) at
. Other consortium members are
Bogazici University
Cultura Foundation
(Finland), GREIP @ Universitat Autonoma Barcelona (Spain), and the
University of Helsinki
(Finland).
