Last Wednesday, May 15th, research members, doctoral students, and associates had the privilege of attending a training session organized by and for the GREIP research group. Our trainer, César Herranz Pedriza, a member of the European project ORALPHA, an adult education teacher, and co-author of the advanced literacy method ORALPHA 2 and the ORALPHA APP for mobile phones, shared his experience in teaching adults and young migrants.
During the session, we explored various concepts, teaching methods, materials, and challenges related to adult and young immigrant literacy. We delved into the unique characteristics of literacy classrooms for this demographic group and discussed the learning processes involved.
The trainee’s methodology not only facilitated our understanding of the content but also prompted us to engage in dialogue, sharing diverse perspectives that enriched our collective knowledge. Finally, the trainee presented the materials developed for ORALPHA and ORALPHA 2, a method specifically designed to teach reading and writing to adults.
GREIP’s insight
Les preguntes dels assistents van provocar una profunda reflexió sobre l’educació en aquest àmbit. Estem agraïts i esperem continuar aprenent i accedint a aquestes formacions més sovint.
