PhD. Eduardo Cabrera is currently a lecturer at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, UAB, Spain.  Prior to his current appointment, he served as a senior researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and as a researcher at the Autonomous University of Guerrero, México; visiting researcher at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London and research associate at the Institute of Advanced Research Computing, iARC, in the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, Durham University, in the UK. Dr Cabrera has over twenty years of experience in parallel and distributed computing to deliver effective, sustainable solutions to social challenges. He has experience in developing High Performance solutions to challenging computational problems. He has published one book chapter and dozens of peer reviewed papers. One of these papers received the best paper award at ICCS 2012.
