Bioinformatics Barcelona (BiB)

BIB is a new project that is being constituted and that wants to become a benchmark international platform for the promotion of advanced research, the transfer of knowledge and technology, and the provision of postgraduate education in the field of Bioinformatics, by taking advantage of a critical mass of internationally recognized researchers with complementary profiles, available computational infrastructure and the relevant industrial and clinical environment.

The main objectives of BIB are:

– To draw attention to the current potential of Barcelona, and Catalonia, in the field of Bioinformatics and related disciplines, and to act as a catalyst for initiatives in advanced research in this area.

– To foster the transfer of knowledge between bioinformatics research groups, the health sector, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

– To contribute to expanding knowledge in the field of bioinformatics and its related disciplines through postgraduate educational activities.

– To cooperate with universities, research centres, companies, and public and private organizations in order to achieve these goals.
