The training, with the participation of the OMEC, will take place on March 6 and 13.

The Department of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the UAB and UNRWA Catalunya organize the training “Refugees in Palestine and Peace Journalism”. The course, which is supported by OMEC, aims to foster the acquisition of knowledge and skills on how to cross-functionalize the gender-based and human-rights approach to media coverage of humanitarian crises, conflicts and refugee situations, based on the reality of refugees in Palestine.ç

The course will take place on Friday, March 6 and Friday, March 13 from 12:00 to 15:00, at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
 
The structure of the sessions will be as follows:
 
o Session 1 – March 6:
What is peace journalism? What does it mean to report with a gender and human rights approach?
Agenda 2030 – ODM, refugee population in Palestine and responsibility for peace journalism and gender.
o Session 2 – March 13:
Frames, narratives and stories for journalistic coverage from a gender and human rights perspective of conflicts, violence and humanitarian crises.

The training team of the courses will be made up of UNRWA Catalunya and the Lola Mora Producciones Journalists Association.

The course is framed in the subject Communication, Cooperation and Development, but is open to all interested. To attend, you must register by sending an email to catalunya@unrwa.es before March 3, 2020.
