Mariano Dagatti, from the National University of Quilmes, and Elizabeth Martínez de Aguirre, from the University of Rosario, visit the UAB

The LAPREC group has held two days of doctoral training within the framework of the PhD program in Communication and Journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The first, in cooperation with the Ibero-American Communication Observatory, consisted of a Journal Club. The second, organized entirely by LAPREC, was a Methodological Seminar.

The doctoral training activities held in February brought together fifteen participants, who are currently preparing their doctoral thesis in communication and journalism. The two activities had a marked international view, since they had the guest professors: Mariano Dagatti, from the National University of Quilmes, and Elizabeth Martínez de Aguirre, from the University of Rosario, both in Argentina.

At the Journal Club meeting, participants had the opportunity to exchange views on research about the theoretical part of their projects, while at the Methodology Seminar, professors Dagatti and Martínez de Aguirre, joined by LAPREC researcher Cristina Fernández Rovira, explained different methodologies used in their own research on communication.

Dagatti, on the other hand, also gave a talk to the students of the UAB Master’s Degree in Journalism and Innovation in Digital Content, entitled: The rebellion of the networks. Communication, identity and positioning strategies in the political field within the framework of the subject, Digital Strategy and Positioning of Journalistic Content. The Argentine professor collaborated closely with the group’s director, Teresa Velázquez, in the preparation of issue 33 of the deSignis Journal  and participated in the International Intersections Colloquium in the public sphere. New actors, new interactions, held in Paris between February 10 and 12.
