Areas of Research
The REICIT research group (Research in Intercultural and Translation Studies) is focussed on the interrelation between Culture, Language and Translation. REICIT sets out from the premise of the cultural and ideological load in language and from the multicultural environment of Translation, and proposes three conceptual areas as its research objectives:
- To investigate on the ideological weight of intercultural transactions (literature, cinema, etc.).
- To contribute to reflections on cultures (cannon, cultural hegemony, migration flows, minoritised cultures, etc.).
- To identify and analyze different factors involved in a translated text: translation modality, geographical and temporal situation, initiator, client, receiver, influence of previous translations, function of the text,etc.
