With the first stop in Athens, the Memory Route of the WIRE EU project has been officially launched!

40 university students from Italy, Spain, Poland and Greece gathered in Athens last Friday to record 12 podcasts recounting the stories of 12 women who were active in resistance and anti-authoritarian movements in 20th century Europe.
After 6 months of preparation in Monte Sole, Italy; Barcelona, Spain, and Krakow, Poland, and individual research under the expert guidance of the Contemporary Social History Archives (ASKI), the students entered the recording studio to tell us about the choices, sacrifices, determination and perseverance of women who found the meaning of struggle and solidarity in opposing authoritarianism.
The scripts were created by themselves in a series of online meetings with guidance from ASKI.

The Memory Route will now move to Krakow in March, hosted by Villa Decius, then to Monte Sole in April, and finally to Barcelona in October, for the final meeting organised by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Memorial Democràtic.
