Research

My research topics are the Indigenous peoples, cultural mediation processes, the anthropology of peace and conflict and the international cooperation and development.

The focus of my research is based on cultural mediation in indigenous contexts in Guatemala. I am particularly interested in the application of transitional justice mechanisms based on the experiences of survivors of the armed conflict in the Ixil region. I also reflect on methodological strategies for ethnographic research in post-conflict and violent contexts. During the last years, I have conducted fieldwork in Guatemala in the years 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and I have collaborated in various national and European research projects.
