Research
Currently working on a PhD research project with the aim of analysing tourism development in the province of Manabí, Ecuador. Specifically, the thesis focuses on how tourism has evolved in the communities of Pile and Ayampe from a gender and identity perspective. My main lines of research are specifically local identity in the province of Manabí, community tourism, gender, and women tourists “solo travelers”.
I have had the pleasure to participate as a speaker in conferences such as the international congress «Science, research, development and technology» by the Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí (March 2023), international congress SOCANTUR (June 2023), congress Anthropology ASAEE (September 2023) and in the «International Forum of powerful and resilient women reactivating the economy 2020» by the collective “Alas -ec”.
