Research

PhD in Ethnology and Social and Cultural Anthropology from EHESS in Paris, Associate Professor at UAB, and responsible of the Research Department at AlterNativa Intercanvi amb Pobles Indígenes. I have taught at the universities of Paris XIII, UOC, UPF, and UAB, and have been a visiting researcher at ULA and IVIC in Venezuela. My field of study is the Guyanese and Amazonian area, and more specifically the E’nyepa Carib people of Venezuela, with whom I have worked on aspects of social space, territory, and the relationship with the natural environment. In my research, I have alternated between academic investigation and applied tasks, such as coordinating and providing technical support for the land self-demarcation project of the E’nyepa people. In parallel, I have also conducted research on ethnocartography and ethnogeography, indigenous peoples’ rights, kinship studies, and museography.
