Research

My research is in the field of environmental anthropology, specifically in nature-culture relationships in Mediterranean mountain pastoral contexts. I focus on the forms of collective organization developed around the use of pastures through formal and informal institutions developed for this purpose. Likewise, I am interested in the relationships established with domestic animals and grassland territories, encompassing the material dimension and the set of sociocultural expressions. I am also interested in how agrarian policies, global markets, and processes of sociocultural change shape these relationships. My research includes areas in the Catalan Pyrenees and in the Sierra de Segura (south-east of Spain). Moreover, I collaborate with the association Iniciativa Comunales and I am an honorary member of ICCA-Consortium.
