On the afternoon of the 10th of November 2022, the seminar “Transforming the school: from protection to inclusion” will take place in the Faculty of Education at the University of Valladolid. Organised by the AFIN Group (UAB) and the Regional Association of Adoptive Families of Castilla y León (ARFACYL) in the framework of the European project Brighter Future, the University of Valladolid, CORA (the Federation of Adoption and Foster Care Associations) and ASEAF (the State Association of Foster Care) have collaborated to make this event possible. The aim of the event is twofold: on the one hand, to present the results of the project; on the other hand, to discuss them with people who have experienced foster care as children, professionals from the education and protection system and other researchers. At the end of the day, “Así crecen los enanos“, a documentary that focuses on the shortcomings of residential care as a form of child protection, will be screened, followed by a conversation with the director Raúl Serrano and the seminar’s participants.
