Exhibition of G4RoC Publications: Exploring War through Literature

War transcends time, shaping history and art throughout the centuries. From Homer’s epics to contemporary accounts of the Gaza Strip, conflict remains one of the most persistent themes in literature. This interest in war has become the focus of the Group for the Representation of Conflict (G4RoC) at the English and German Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. After years of exploring the presence/impact of war and its aftermath on literature and culture, the G4RoC, in collaboration with the Humanities Library, proudly presents an exhibition showcasing their publications and research findings. We invite you to immerse yourself in the narratives of conflict alongside the publications of the Group for the Representation of Conflict.

The Humanities Library is hosting an exciting exhibition starting 11 March 2024, featuring the most recent and significant publications from the research group, including various books and articles. This exhibition allows you to explore the deep narratives and insightful perspectives that our researchers have developed over the past few years, as well as their most influential work. The innovative and diverse focus on conflict and its presence in media, approached from intersectional perspectives, promises to captivate your interest, as you engage with the world of war, and its impact on protagonists from an intersectional perspective. From Shakespeare’s classics to the fantasy world of Harry Potter, our research offers fresh insights into renowned literary works and introduces you to compelling narratives from various countries and sociocultural settings. Indeed, the remarkably diverse and thought-provoking approaches will broaden your understanding of your experience of conflict and its representation in literature.

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about the work of our researchers, as well as the core publications in the field of conflict. We hope you will join us and take this chance to explore the experiences of conflict and their significant impact on people’s lives.
