Sarah Sampaio

Sarah Sampaio, 28 years old, moved from Brazil to the United States in 2011 to work in a Recruitment company and in 2016 after being awarded a studentship, decided to change her professional path and follow her dream of a career in academia as a PhD researcher at Middlesex University London. Despite working in the corporate sector for 6 years in Marketing and Legal fields, Sarah’s passion has always been academia. Sarah has a B.A. of International Relations from UNESP (Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho) in Brazil, an M.B.A from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida, US and is currently pursuing her PhD in Business at the CEEDR (Centre for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Research).

Sarah Sampaio’s PhD research surrounds the changing gender roles and the business/household nexus of women’s entrepreneurship in Greater Sao Paulo, Brazil with particular interest in exploring female and household experiences in suburban areas through a constructionist embedded epistemology. Sarah’s research interests are Gender and Entrepreneurship, Regional and Latin American Studies, Social and Gender Inequalities and Labour Studies.

Sarah has presented her research work in several conferences across the UK, such as the Regional Studies Association (RSA-UK) Annual Conference, ISBE – Gender and Entrepreneurship Confreat and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation conference by Loughborough University London.
