It is elaborated by the Center for Research and Trade Union Research of CCOO, wants to be a basic tool for the consultation and analysis of statistical data on economic, social and labor development of the European Union, time becomes a reference of character Comparative with respect to the Catalan reality. In short, its purpose is to provide a series of information and analysis at a time when, beyond economic convergence, the construction of Social Europe is found on all agendas of trade union organizations.

For the above reasons, Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, is the basic source for the elaboration of the CCOO Social Eurobarometer of Catalonia. In this way, the maximum level of homogeneity and comparability of the information collected is ensured, since the treatment of the data provided by the different States of the European Union receives the same methodological treatment.

However, the lower development of regional statistics in the European Union does not always provide specific information at the level of Catalonia. This has involved, in certain cases, the subsidiary use of data obtained directly from the Statistics Institute of Catalonia (IDESCAT) and the National Statistics Institute (INE), which is indicated in the corresponding data. In these cases, the presence of some variations in the methodological criteria used may affect, albeit very slightly, the degree of comparability of these data.
