Olli Herranen

I am a doctoral student of sociology at the University of Tampere, Finland, studying social theory, the political economy of the European union and the state administration reform in Finland. My main concern throughout my studies has been structural inequality, economic policy programs (such as European austerity measures) and Finnish welfare state reform.

I have done my doctoral dissertation fully funded since the beginning of the year 2014. In 2015, I spent eight months as a researcher in the project called State Administration Reform as a Catalyst For Change in the Welfare State (Primary Investigator: Prof. Risto Heiskala). Before my time as a doctoral student, I have worked in the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra as a meta-analyst and a research assistant, and I have have conducted a survey research for the Ministry of Employment and Economy of Finland.
