Doctor Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Communication, Academic Secretary of the Faculty of Sociology and researcher in the Sociology of International Migrations Team (ESOMI), University of A Coruña.   She has a PhD  in Sociology (2014),  degree in Sociology (1999) and an Official Master’s Degree in International Migration, specialising in Migratory Policies and Intercultural Mediation (2009), awarded by the University of A Coruña. 

Her doctoral thesis entitled ‘The New Spaniards from the Historical Memory Law in Cuba and Argentina: Opportunity or Identity?’  was directed by the Professor of Sociology, Antonio Izquierdo Escribano, and was unanimously awarded the highest grade (Distinction ‘cum laude’). (28/03/2014)

Her research interests lie in the areas of International Migration, Identity, Citizenship, the Historical Memory Law and Religious Pluralism.

His most recent publications include the article “The Grandchildren of Galicia: Lived and Imagined Citizenship” (2017), in En DePalma, R. e Pérez-Caramés, A. (ed.) Beyond Global Cities: A case study of emerging superdiversity. New York: Springer (81-92); the book “Los Herederos de la Ciudadanía” published by Icaria in 2016, the coordination of the book (2014) “Mareas de Pluralismo. Minorías religiosas en Galicia”, Barcelona: Icaria, directed by Antonio Izquierdo of which she is also the author and co-author of several chapters.
