Degree in Political Science and Sociology and Social Work. Doctor in Sociology. Professor-Researcher of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the ULL and teacher in the Master of Gender and Equality Policies of the ULL, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education and currently President of the PDI Committee. Member of the IUEM (University Institute for Women’s Studies), of the Feminist Forum and Founder of the PAC (Platform for the Abolition of prostitution in the Canary Islands) and of the Research Group “Gender, citizenship and cultures. Approaches from feminist theory”. .
He has worked in the Direction, Management and Coordination of Public Equality Policies in Social Services Centers of the Junta de Extremadura and the Community of Madrid from 1988 to 2003.Likewise, he has worked at the Canary Islands Institute of Equality of the Government of the Canary Islands and in 2003 he joined the University of Laguna to carry out teaching and research tasks in lines related to feminist sociology, sexual violence; Prostitution, trafficking and pornography, participating in different international and national projects such as Justice, citizenship and vulnerability and Populations and merchandise: trafficking and trafficking of women in Spain and with international migration and scientific trajectories of women. He has directed, together with others, the 1st study on prostitution of women in the Canary Islands financed by the Government of the Canary Islands. She has published more than 30 articles and collaborator in more than 20 collective works and participated in various R&D projects from a gender and human rights approach.
