Carolina Esteso

PhD researcher of the Department of Sociology of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
She is member of the research group in Sociology of Religion (ISOR) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, ??the research group in Anthropology, Diversity and Conviviality (GINADYC) of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the research group Anthropology of Religion and Spirituality of the Institute of Anthropology of Madrid (ARESIMA) and the Association of Ibero-American Anthropologists (AIBR).
She is currently a PhD student in the PhD program of Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced Studies in Social Anthropology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the same university, a Diploma in Social Education from the Universidad de Castilla la Mancha and a Senior Technician from Social Integration.
Her research interests are: new spiritualities, religious diversity, minority religions, alternative healing methods, neo-paganisms (Wicca, Hellenic reconstructionisms), Sikhism, religion in the public space, religious migration.
She has been awarded with the FPI fellowship from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and she works as a PhD researcher at the ISOR research group in the Department of Sociology of the UAB. Previously, she has been an honorary collaborator of the Department of Social Anthropology of the UCM and has worked in this department in the project: “Study of the study abandonment in the Degree of Social Anthropology of the UCM” and in the Association AIBR as an anthropologist. Her previous professional career is linked to her work in foundations, NGOs and associations in the field of the management of disability care centers, training, and programs for children at risk of exclusion, immigration and social mediator, among others.
