Heather Jeffrey

Heather Jeffrey is a doctoral student at Middlesex University Business School and a lecturer in tourism. In 2015 she began the Critical Tourism Studies Students research network and is a postgraduate representative for the Gender & Feminist Geographies Research Group, and the Geographies of Tourism and Leisure Research Group within the Royal Geographical Society. Her doctoral research focuses on the role of tourism in the discursive construction of gender identities and gender inequalities in Tunisia. This research utilizes a multiple methods approach including critical discourse analysis, in-depth interviews and netnography. Heather has also presented on her doctoral research at a wide variety of conferences and writes a regular blog on both tourism and academia for the Huffington Post.
